BIO / LOUIS LARKIN
i am a 21 year old photographer from melbourne. Whilst my photography journey is relatively young, I’ve been able to develop my skills a great deal in both photography and videography. Hopefully this page can help you gain information on my journey and stay up to date with my future endeavours!
I’ve had an interest in media for as long as I can remember. Playing around and making short Imovie skits in primary. The classes I enjoyed most in high school were all the more creative classes where I was able to express myself visually and creatively. I’ve recently graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in Media and Communications. Throughout this course I was able to be extremely creative and stretch my imagination with my videography work.
I’ve only recently gotten into photography seriously. After finishing my internship in 2024, I realised that it was something I wanted to pursue but that I’d also need to put a lot of work in to be able to create things I was proud of. In January of 2025, I bought my first Fujifilm camera, the Fujifilm X-A5. After 2 months of using that camera, I realised I wanted something that could do video and photo instead of just photos. So in March I upgraded to the Fujifilm X-T4.
From this I was able to start freely making media essentially whenever I want. I now take at least one of my cameras everywhere I go. Pairing my Fujifilm with an old Pentax 80MC, I’ve been able to learn a lot about film photography as well.
My first major individual project came in the form of me making a digital gallery for my university showcase. My exhibit titled ‘Symbiosis’ showcased the unique correlations between the industrial areas of Europe and the more carefully curated, natural areas like the forests in Austria and Germany.
Since I’ve graduated university, I’ve gotten a lot more into photography, winning the Fujifilm monthly award for February.
